online homeschooling classes & springboarding support

Springboarding

Springboarding puts students in charge of what they learn, allowing them to choose enables them to develop a personal interest in the subjects they delve into.

We encourage active learning through discussion and collaboration, focusing on what learners are interested in studying. What they would like to know more about and how they would best like to learn it. Education is all about relationships; with people, information and ourselves.

Fostering a closer relationship with curriculum content will give young learners more of chance to engage with the content and assessment expectations and give them the boost that will help get them ahead.

iGCSE or I.B.

Both curriculums are rigorous and provide excellent preparation for further study. The IB is ideal for students seeking a well-rounded, liberal arts education, while the IGCSE allows for greater specialization in specific subjects.

Our specialists have extensive experience with IB, IGCSE, as well as UK and American curriculums, ensuring expert guidance tailored to your academic needs.

STEAM and Thought Bubbles

STEAM and Thought Bubbles

By learning to think critically, children are able to develop their own opinions and ideas, rather than simply accepting what they are told. This helps them to become independent thinkers. Critical thinking allows children to make their own decisions and judgments, rather than relying on others.

Classes for Discussion in any subject is of benefit to learners of all ages. Whether you're studying Science, Technology, English, Art or Maths based subjects, sharing thoughts and ideas is always a fantastic way to help a learner see things from a different perspective, and maybe tackle the next challenge they face in a different and more efficient and understanding way.

All our ESL English classes are designed in accordance with the CEFR, which organises language proficiency into six levels (A1 to C2), grouped into three broad categories: Basic User, Independent User, and Proficient User. These levels are further subdivided based on local context and learner needs, using 'can-do' descriptors to assess progress.

In addition to the CEFR, we align our teaching with other international standards and benchmarks, such as the Cambridge English Scale, IELTS band descriptors, TOEFL proficiency levels, and WIDA standards. This ensures that students are monitored and assessed according to globally recognised frameworks, providing a clear and structured path for language learning and academic development.

Conversational English

International Benchamarks for EFL

International Benchamarks for EFL

Conversational English is the language used by everyday speakers. It is casual and informal. It is the type of English that is used in grocery stores, chatting online or when speaking with friends and family. It is, for most speakers, the language used to communicate.

Conversational English for young learners can provide many benefits. After only a few classes we can help learners to enhance communication skills, develop confidence, as well as make them more multicultural and open-minded.

International English Language Testing System

What is IELTS?

IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is the most important globally recognized standardised test designed to evaluate the language proficiency of non-native English speakers. It assesses individuals' abilities in listening, reading, writing, and speaking English in academic or general contexts. Developed by the British Council, IDP Education, and Cambridge Assessment English, IELTS is widely accepted by over 10,000 organisations worldwide, including universities, employers, immigration authorities, and professional bodies.

IELTS offers two test versions: Academic and General Training. The Academic module is suitable for those planning to pursue higher education or seeking professional registration, while the General Training module is intended for individuals migrating to an English-speaking country or aiming for employment purposes. Both modules assess language skills across the four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

The Listening section evaluates candidates' ability to comprehend spoken English through audio recordings. Test-takers listen to conversations, lectures, and discussions and answer related questions, assessing their listening comprehension, main idea understanding, and ability to grasp specific information and the speaker's attitudes or intentions.

The Reading section measures candidates' reading comprehension skills. It consists of passages from books, newspapers, magazines, or academic journals, followed by questions. The passages evaluate the ability to identify main ideas, locate specific details, infer information, and comprehend the writer's opinions or attitudes.

The Writing section assesses candidates' written English expression. It comprises two tasks: Task 1 requires describing and interpreting visual information, such as graphs or diagrams, while Task 2 involves responding to a specific question or statement with a well-structured essay. This section evaluates candidates' organization of ideas, appropriate vocabulary and grammar usage, and effective argumentation.

The Speaking section is a face-to-face interview with an examiner. It assesses candidates' spoken English skills in various situations, including introductory discussions, task-based conversations, and a short presentation. The examiner evaluates fluency, vocabulary usage, grammatical accuracy, pronunciation, and coherence in expressing ideas.

IELTS scores are reported on a nine-band scale, ranging from 1 (non-user) to 9 (expert user). Each band represents a different level of proficiency in the English language. The scores from the four sections are averaged to calculate an overall band score, reflecting candidates' language proficiency.

IELTS scores have diverse applications. Universities and educational institutions often require IELTS scores as evidence of language proficiency for admission purposes. Many employers use IELTS scores to assess job applicants' English language skills, particularly in multinational companies or industries operating in English-speaking environments. Immigration authorities in countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand also utilize IELTS scores to determine language proficiency for visa and citizenship applications.
